Strongyloides stercoralis

Strongyloides first-stage rhabditiform larvae (visible in all figures on this page) are 180-380 mm long by 14-20 mm wide.

They have a short buccal cavity, a prominent genital primordium (visible at right) and a pointed tail.

One problem with detecting Strongyloides is the fact that the number of larvae may be very scant and many infections go undiagnosed.
