A 60 yr. old male presents with an over 20 year history of chronic erythema and scaling of the soles of both feet.
Several nails are dystrophic and brittle.
KOH exam is positive for hyphae Culture of nails and skin grows Trichophyton rubrum. Treatment with oral terbinafine for three months clears both skin and nails. |
